Another super-windy afternoon.

Breezy but much, much calmer than the past three days. Warming up again and at long last a local road construction project is winding down and opening up roads that have been closed for two months.

Third straight day of high winds. On the home stretch there was a half mile section that I didn't need to pedal on with the wind straight at my back. Did 22.5 mph that way with no efforts.

I've been back on the Norco Search XR the last few rides after getting a tire issue fixed. Had to throw away a tire with lots of miles still left on it because I couldn't get all of a bit of wire out of the casing. A cool day in late October is what it felt like today. Though we started at different times, and rode different routes, the wife and I managed to finish at the same time.

Rain poured down in the AM but the sun came out and dried things in the afternoon.

Been most of the week. First ride since Tuesday. Still not feeling great.

Cherry blossom day...the day that happens once every year where all the pink and white cherry blossoms fall and swirl across the roads in the wind, building up blossom drifts against the curbs.

Goal=2,500 by end of April.

Did the first 12 with the wife. We got rained on a bit doing laps out on Finn Hall. I rode home the long way and mostly stayed dry after the first 4 or so in the misty rain.

Rode much of the home leg from work with DT. I really had to appreciate the scenery on the final 5 miles. Clear blue skies riding along a bluff above the Straits of Juan de Fuca, looking over the water at Canada, Mt. Baker, cruise ships out in the straits and the New Dungeness Lighthouse 6 miles out on a sandspit, eagles nesting in the trees along the road. Not everyone gets a daily ride home from work like this.

Another beautiful spring day. Looks like rain rolling in Saturday night, so time to make hay while the sun shines.

Pretty nice day. Winds died down so minimal breeze on both the work and home legs of the ride. I've averaged 7500 miles per year since 2006 and am trying to hit that target again this year. Thinking strongly of moving up my retirement date to mid-2025 and dreaming of not having to ride in the dark during late fall-winter-early spring seasons. Plus, retirement would open up time for more social rides, instead of the usual solo commute stuff.

Sunny but the wind really came up late in the day. Tomorrow's PM wind is supposed to be a steady 15-20 mph.

Gray in the morning and raining mid-day, but it cleared out in time for some warmth and sunshine on my ride home. Just as I was getting near to home, the wife was headed out on her newly repaired bike. I hustled home, dropped the commuter pack and jacket, switched out bikes and caught up to her out by the Staits. Turned out to be a beautiful afternoon for a ride.

So windy at times that I had to pedal to move downhill. Finally gave up the struggle.

Waited out the rain and started at 3:20 or so. Stayed dry.

Rode to work and then camped Friday night and rode at the state park.

Back on an old 25mm front tire to use it up + I don't want to use my good ones in the winter.

A bit of light rain at times but the sun finally came out in the end. Waited out heavy rains in the AM to have a "dry" ride.

The long-awaited return of 35 mile Friday. It's been a long time.

Unseasonably warm...snowpack is melting out in the mountains and temps were upper 50s and even low 60s in some places. We seem to be getting either extreme, just not normal winter temps.

Thankful that it was dry today. That won't be the case tomorrow.

Flatted on the way to work, but only a 1/2 mile away. Lots of sand and grit on the roads still after the big snow and ice event a couple of weeks back. Fixed it after work and went till dark on the way home.

Rode with J in the mist before the rains come.

Some light drizzle on and off, but mostly dry. It's good to see all those Chili riders on the rider board.

99.9% melted out but you still have to stay vigilant for ice in the shady spots.

Snow and ice finally melted out. Lost a lot of days due to the slick road surfaces.

Been snowed under since the 12th...and a few days to come before all the ice melts out.

Dry at last. Now the cold comes tomorrow.

Very windy today, but I'll take that over the possible snow headed this way in 5-6 days.
